Age of Conan, the MMORPG based on Robert E. Howard’s world of Hyboria, is an MMORPG that gives you the opportunity to live the barbaric life that Conan led, and to forge your own journey in those times. The game commenced way back on May 20, 2008 and my mates and I had a blast playing in those first years. It’s since gone free-to-play and renamed Age of Conan Unchained and I’ll be revisiting it soon as part of the MMORPG Memory Lane series of articles, the latest of which covers The Matrix Online.
For the next three weeks, Age of Conan will be celebrating it’s 11th anniversary milestone with various bonuses and deals, as well as daily login rewards in the lead up to May 30, when the latest game in the Conan universe is released, Conan Unconquered. The following bonuses will be in effect from May 09 to May 30:
- XP/AA Potions and Hoards of the Silent Legion are 30% off for the whole event!
- Royal Treasure Chests are 10% off, also for the whole event!
- Plus, get doubled Atlantean Shards from Raid Finder daily challenge chests!
Special daily event rewards
The in-game daily event rewards calendar replaces the standard one for the duration of the event. These rewards include Atlantean Shards, Paragon’s Caches, Expertise points, and a brand-new mount, the Savage Keshian Panther.
Spoils of victory
Every day, you will receive an additional login reward that gives you a special Raid Finder chest. This chest can be opened with the “Conqueror’s Gift” buff after completing any Raid Finder or Daily Challenge. This special chest contains a chance at various token packs as well as a chance at a brand-new Savage Panther pet.
Age of Conan’s classic anniversary content, Shadows of the Past and Acheronian Soul are available for the duration of the event, and there’s a special badge waiting for any new Necromancers who reach level 80. These anniversary events will conclude coinciding with the release of Conan Unconquered on May 30 which is a new real-time survival strategy game developed by Command & Conquer veterans Petroglyph and published by Funcom. Haven’t heard of Conan Unconquered? Here’s a trailer as explained by the game’s developers to get you fired up for launch.
Finally, May 8 was the first anniversary of the full release of Conan Exiles, an online multiplayer open-world survival game set in the lands of Conan the Barbarian. To celebrate this important milestone, Funcom have released a tonne of free updates including a whole new dungeon, a new mini-dungeon, new types of pets, and a full revamp of several NPC settlements and cities. You can read about all of the anniversary updates to Conan Exiles here or watch the video below. Conan Exiles is currently free to play on Steam this weekend from now until May 13, 2019.
