VICTORIAN-era themed building/real-time strategy/trading game Anno 1800 has become the fastest-selling game in the franchise’s 25-year history and will be getting a console launch in March.
The seventh main game in the Anno series; Anno 1800 has sold more than 2.5 million copies since launch and continues to receive DLC more than three years after its PC launch.
Ubisoft have confirmed the game will be launching on Xbox and PlayStation 5 on March 16 this year, and will offer console players “the full Anno experience with a completely redesigned User interface and controls, powered by the next generation of consoles”.
Executive producer Stéphane Jankowski said Anno 1800 was a great success and the team were looking forward to bringing it to consoles for the first time.
“The popularity and the success of the game on PC gave us the opportunity to develop a console version of the game, thanks to the power of the next generation of consoles,” he said.
“Bringing our most successful Anno game on consoles is a real chance for us to let new players discover our award-winning game for the first time and join our amazing community.”
Ubisoft have also said Anno 1800 Console Edition is now available for pre-order; the Standard version is AUD$59.95 and includes the base game and the biggest game updates, while the Deluxe version is AUD$79.95 andcontains the base game, the biggest game updates and three cosmetics packs: the Pedestrian Zone, the Amusements Pack and Vibrant Cities.
