ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Delivers Action For All

World of Tanks ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 showed why it is a must watch with only four points separating first place from last. Only one team remains without an outright win.

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Game 1
Adelaide Action X Vs Christchurch Conquerors

ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Action X Vs Conquerors
Christchurch Conquerors were dominant in their match against Adelaide Action X

With Action X coming off a win and the Conquerors shaping up to be the team to watch, the first match of the night was tipped to be a banger!

Starting out on Action X’s map choice of Prokhorovka, the Conquerors were steady and showed why they’re on top of the ladder. Conquerors took the first game on attack but Action X held their nerve to take a tight second game.

Action X started their Himmelsdorf defence heavily defending the two flag. That allowed the Conquerors to take a lot of southern map control. The Conquerors isolated Ironguard and Saxon in a four versus two and got a two-for-one trade. The game ended up a little closer than the Conquerors wanted but they took the lead in series 2-1. Action X made a three tank play for the two flag in their attacking game before the Conquerors dumped onto them. Demonstrating superior focus fire, the Conquerors decimated the Action X attack.

The Christchurch Conquerors maintain their ladder lead with a 3-1 win over Adelaide Action X.

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Game 2
North Sydney Sentinels Vs South Sydney Skorpions

ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Sentinels Vs Skorpions
The Sydney Derby provided some very entertaining matches!

The always entertaining Sydney Derby promised to be an exciting match up. The South Sydney Skorpions and North Sydney Sentinels are very close match ups and have a history of success.

The Skorpions seemed to have the Sentinels number early. On attack of Ghost Town, Skorpions took a brawl on the two flag. Both teams traded kills resulting in a two-versus-two. The Sentinels had the HP advantage but in the end the Skorpions were too good. For the reverse match the Sentinels bled a bit of early damage and were unlucky not to get a kill on Raspberry. The Skorpions brawled well and toke their defensive game on Sentinel’s map pick of Ghost Town.

The Sentinels weren’t ready to go quietly into the night. Skorpion’s JT headed down the eight line but bled heavily on return resulting in his death. With a tank advantage early, Sentinels held their ground on their defence of Himmelsdorf. Skorpions made their move towards the one flag. They fought well but being a tank down made it very hard. The Sentinels took advantage and won the match. The return match had the Skorpions bleeding early. That allowed the Sentinels to move two tanks onto the two flag. Skorpions got resets but the early HP bleed cam back to haunt them. The Sentinels take both matches on Himmelsdorf sending the game to a tie breaker.

With Sentinels on defence of Prokhorovka the battle was on! Skorpions were aggressive early, taking a lot of map control. All but one of the Sentinels were trapped on the eastern side of the train line. Skorpions moved Russian onto the one flag and started a capture. Sentinels positioned well and eventually dumped over the train line. Sentinels took three of the Skorpions’ tanks without loss and went on to take the tie breaker win.

North Sydney Sentinels complete the reverse sweep and take the tie breaker win 3-2 over the South Sydney Skorpions.

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Game 3
    Perth Panthers Vs Brisbane Bulldogs

ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Panthers Vs Bulldogs
The Bulldogs pushed the Panthers in every game

The last match of the night saw the third placed Brisbane Bulldogs taking on the last placed Perth Panthers. The Bulldogs were coming off an upset win against the Skorpions in Round 3. The Panthers were desperate for a win to keep them in touch with the main pack.

Panthers started on defence of their map choice of Tundra. Dark from the Bulldogs took some damage early but the Bulldogs retaliated getting some shots onto the Panthers’ Dastardy. With 2:20 left on the clock, Panthers’ Twit copped a lot of damage. Bulldogs took advantage of this and pushed for the double capture. Panthers were able to push them off the cap but Bulldogs got a couple of quick kills. The clock was against the Bulldogs though, with Panthers taking a timed win. The reverse match saw some great battles. Bulldogs’ Madhouse worked hard but unfortunately was not able to get a kill onto Panthers’ Goober. That came back to haunt the Bulldogs with Goober surviving to help with a three tank capture against the lone Madhouse. Panthers take both matches on Tundra and go up 2-0.

The action moved to Mines and the Bulldogs were hungry for wins on their map pick. They moved onto the hill but Panthers’ Twit was at the base of the hill virtually permanently providing vision on the hill. The Bulldogs rotated and pushed down the one line. After a one for one trade, Bulldogs toke control of the south west corner of the map. They moved onto the two flag with tanks positioned to provide cover fire. Panthers’ Twit launched himself off a ledge to get resets in. His play allowed his team mate Godmode to run and hide. With no time left for a capture, the Panthers win as the time rans out. The Bulldogs were able to salvage their night, taking their defensive match on Mines.

The Perth Panthers get a much needed win, defeating the Brisbane Bulldogs 3-1.

    Fantasy League

ANZPL Season 4 Round 4 Fantasy League Team Of The Week
The Fantasy League team of the week

For the first time this season no Conquerors players were featured in the Fantasy League team of the week. MerryTurnipDay (268.0) did score more than one of the players on the team of the week but due to limitations on star rankings did not earn a spot. TheReturned (381.2) and Wym0 (319.2) from the Sentinels and Russian (345.2) from the Skorpions showed how good those two teams are. Godmode (271.6) from the Panthers and MadHouse (264.1) from the Bulldogs rounded out the Fantasy League team of the week.
