Belkin Boost Charge Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker Review

Friday nights for me consist of getting home from work, helping my wife getting the kids bathed and fed before putting them to bed, then settling in for a night of gaming. To help get me settled into game mode, the Game on AUS podcast is a good way to catch up on what’s been happening in gaming the past week. The Belkin Boost Charge Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker is such a good addition to my gaming workstation that lets me belt out the podcast whilst charging my phone at the same time, and it’s so easy to use.

This device is super simple to set up, it just requires power so the only thing you really need to think about is placement on your desk, kitchen, workstation or wherever you listen to your favourite podcasts or music. Utilising one-touch Bluetooth pairing, you’ll be up and running before you can press play on the next podcast episode or your favourite song. I have an iPhone 11 but this Belkin Boost Charge Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker is compatible with iPhone 8 and newer, Galaxy S8 and newer as well as the Sony XPeria XZ2.

What’s great about this device is the 10W of wireless fast charging and the ability to charge through a non-metal phone case that’s no thicker than 3mm. My plastic slimline case is fine and so is my wife’s vinyl cover. You can have the smartphone positioned in portrait or landscape orientations which allows you to do video calls or watch videos with great sound quality. You can also play mobile games such as V4 MMORPG and the volume output is as loud as the iPhone 11 at max volume, but the quality is that much better. Being paired via BlueTooth means you can still pick up the phone and play any hands-on games and still have the audio output to the speaker. This feels a little strange as I’m so accustomed to having the sound come directly from the phone and where my eyes are looking, but it’s still a good feature to have much better quality sound.

The Belkin Boost Charge Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker unit weights just 110g and measures 110mm x 102mm x 106mm, so it’s nice and compact and can be tucked in a convenient space out of the way. We’ve settled on having it in the kitchen/dining area so we can walk in from the carport, put one of our phones onto the stand and it’s already charging it. Once you have paired it once, returning the next day is as easy as docking it and pressing play. It’s this one-touch efficiency we crave as parents of two children under 3 when, once we step through the door, it’s all hands on deck to get the girls sorted for the night.

This device is great because I don’t have to hunt around for that elusive charging cable that everyone in the family loves to borrow and never return where it belongs and I don’t need two hands plus multiple attempts to connect the cable into the USB port. You also don’t have to perch it up against a book or box of tissues and have it fall down halfway through a FaceTime call with the family. I can just walk up and place the phone into the dock one-handed and it’s paired and charging already. This would be a great Christmas present for the tech enthusiasts in the house.

The Belkin Boost Charge Wireless Charging Stand and Speaker is valued at $99.95 available from Belkin and also on currently sale for $69.95 at JB Hi-Fi and $69 at Harvey Norman.
