2K and Gearbox Entertainment announced their next standalone title earlier this morning, starring Borderlands’ very own trouble maker, Tiny Tina. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was officially revealed during Summer Game Fest 2021 and is expected to launch early next year for Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a co-op RPG looter shooter for up to 4 players, much like the Borderlands franchise. This new standalone story however is set in a magical fantasy world. And much like the Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will have players taking on dragons and other monsters through a forever changing D’n’D adventure guided by Tiny Tina herself. Players create a multiclass hero which they’ll use on their quest to stop the Dragon Lord. Wonderlands also features an all-star Hollywood cast including Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes and Will Arnett.
“Wonderlands is a culmination of over a decade of on-and-off development at Gearbox Software towards a Role-Playing Shooter set in a fantasy universe,” said Gearbox Entertainment Founder and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Executive Producer Randy Pitchford. “For me, bringing actual Borderlands® guns to fight dragons, skeletons, goblins, and more in an original fantasy world imagined by the galaxy’s deadliest thirteen-year-old, Tiny Tina, as a new, full-featured AAA video game is a dream come true.”
