COMPUTER manufacturer Dell has announced a range of new products the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, with quite a few of them aimed squarely at gamers.

The products encompass both the Dell brand and its gaming marque Alienware, including a gaming laptop, monitor, and concept software.

Here’s a few of the highlights:

The latest offering in the G5 Special Edition series will be running AMD hardware under its bonnet, with a third-generation AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series CPU (with up  to eight cores) and an AMD Radeon RX 5600M GPU, outputting to a 15.6” FHD display panel available with an optional 144Hz refresh.

The laptop will also, the Alienware Command Centre and storage options – both single and multi drive – including an up to 1TB PCIe M2 SSD and a 2TB 5400 RPM HDD, along with an optional 68Whr battery and an optional four-zone RGB keyboard too.

Designed for gaming, the Alienware 25 monitor

    ALIENWARE 25 GAMING MONITOR

Dell’s PC Gaming division head Matt McGowan has said with the popularity of PC games like
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, players are demanding more immersive experiences, faster and
more responsive displays – hence the introduction of this latest monitor.

Mr McGowan said the 25” full high definition monitor had been built using feedback from the community as well as e-sports players from Team Liquid, and would feature a 240Hz refresh and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time.

“Along with the iconic Legend design, our engineers have added new design elements that offer aesthetic and functional appeal, including a thinner, adjustable stand with height-adjustment markers as well as tapered, vertically slim legs that fit neatly under a keyboard.”

The monitory will be compatible with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia GSync, and has been adopted as the official Team Liqud display, as well as the official competition monitor for League of Legends global events.

It is set for a March 11 release date with an RRP of USD$499.99 (AUD$720); local pricing will be confirmed.

The Alienware Second Screen software will allow gamers to monitor their PC performance stats on a phone.

    ALIENWARE SECOND SCREEN

Not so much a new device but rather new concept software, the company also announced Alienware Second Screen, which allows gamers the ability to view their PC performance stats on their phone.

“Leveraging the underlying technology that powers Dell Mobile Connect, Alienware Second Screen synchronises with Alienware Command Centre to present CPU, GPU and RAM diagnostics in real-time on a gamer’s connected phone,” Mr McGowan said.

“While this is purely an exploratory concept, we are thinking of ways to enhance future iterations
of the software and are welcoming feedback from the community on new features they may
    want to see.

“We think this idea will pique the interest of mobile gamers who don’t always have
access to a second monitor but still want a way to track their performance without leaving the
    game.”
