1950s B-Grade Sci-Fi movie themed Destroy All Humans! has been announced for a July 28 launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Publisher THQ Nordic describes Destroy All Humans! as“a cult classic and one of the few games that will have you laughing out loud”, going on to say “Many games have taken inspiration from its mix of humoristic story-telling and easily accessible open world shooter action, as well as its wide range of over-the-top weaponry. But there can only be one Cryptosporidium: the human-hating alien with the voice of an angry Jack Nicholson and a shorter fuse than a xenomorph on steroids.”
The game casts you as alien Crypto-137, who (as the name suggests) has decided to wage war on Earth and destroy all humans with his intergalactic arsenal.
Some of the things players can do include throwing tanks around, dropping livestock on hapless farmers, zapping enemies with death rays, and pretty much everything else you’d expect from a 1950s alien invasion B-movie.
I played a pre-release version at E3 last year and really enjoyed it – it was humorous, did not take itself seriously, and the demo was fun too – so I’ll definitely be watching the skies for this one when it lands on July 28.
