Dying Light 2 Stay Human is a story-driven open world action role-playing game, published by Techland, and launches on February 4, 2022 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with PC and PlayStation preloads from February 2 (Xbox can preload now). Dying Light 2 is a sequel to the original Dying Light published in 2015, which has been played by over twenty million people. This time around we will shape the future of The City with our actions and watch how it changes as we forge our own experience.
The original Dying Light was great and really cemented parkour gameplay in a zombie-slaying setting, and was great to play co-op. Dying Light: The Following added a new chapter of Kyle Crane’s story and a vast expansion to the base game with modifiable vehicles. Techland has promised 5 years of updates for Dying Light 2 which bodes well for gamers. The virus won and civilization has fallen back to the Dark Ages. The City, one of the last human settlements, is on the brink of collapse.
Over twenty years ago in Harran, we fought the virus—and lost. Now, we’re losing again. This time players are visiting the City – mankind’s last stronghold in the fight against the virus. Dying Light 2 will further enhance the parkour mechanics from the original, enabling players to explore the vast open world and use in tactical combat. The grappling hook has made a comeback and is joined by a paraglider. Both of these items will be upgradable based on story choices you make and facilities that get upgraded in-game.
The City map is four times bigger than the first game which sounds huge, and the terrifying night/day cycle of the original returns. During the day, sunlight keeps the infected at bay. At night time though, the terrors are more prolific including Screamers that will disorient you and alert other enemies to your position. I remember being super anxious when night time fell in the original and often just ran straight for the nearest safe outpost. Players can plunder abandoned Dark Zone lairs at night while the infected are spread out and discover the secrets of those in power by day.
We will have access to over 200 weapons and more than 20 weapon mods, as well as heaps of power moves we can learn over our journey. The same hectic first-person combat is back and as we’ve seen in some of the gameplay trailers released over the past few months, we’ll be able to combine weapons and elements such as fire and electricity to makes some awesome monster slayers. Stealth will play a big part too, particularly at night as you dodge swarms of infected. I’m most looking forward to playing co-op with mates. Pre-orders are still going for Dying Light 2 Stay Human and in doing so, you’ll get both the Reach for the Sky pack (designed in collaboration with Rosario Dawson) and the Reload pack.
- “Reach for the Sky” Outfit for Lawan
- “Reach for the Sky” Crossbow skin for Lawan
- “Reach for the Sky” Paraglider Skin for Lawan and Aiden
- “Reach for the Sky” Backpack Skin for Lawan and Aiden
- “Reload” Outfit

- “Reload” Paraglider Skin
- Note: Lawan is not a playable character, rather just a skin pack.
