EPIC Games has announced that from March 20 through to April 3, 2022, it is committing all of its Fortnite proceeds toward humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
Epic have stated in their FAQs that all real-money Fortnite purchases will be distributed. This includes V-Bucks packs, Fortnite Crew and gifted Battle Passes. Retail store purchases of in game cosmetics and V-Bucks will also be included if they’re reedemed during the above window. They have also stated that using V-Bucks in game will not be included as they are not real-money purchases.
Microsoft is also contributing to the cause, announcing they are donating all net proceeds from all sales of Fortnite content on the Microsoft Store between March 20 and April 3, in all countries where Fortnite is sold.
The organisations Epic Games are supporting are Direct Relief, Unicef, UNWFP and UNHCR, whohese organisations are providing emergency aid, essential supplies and shelter; the company joins other well-known gaming publishers including Wargaming and Chaosium in offering their support for the people affected by the war in Ukraine.
This news comes ahead of the official launch of Season 2, Chapter 3 of Fortnite later today.
