As my alarm went off at 2:45am, I thought to myself, why am I doing this? “Bloody gaming, that’s why!” I was up early to get to Hoyts Carousel in Cannington for the Perth Xbox Gre3n Carpet session, the first of it’s kind in Perth. Getting to watch the Xbox E3 show in a cinema, in recliner seating with breakfast provided was absolutely magic. You couldn’t wipe the grin off my face, and the excitement I felt was like I was watching a highly anticipated movie. I highly recommend getting yourself to one of these sessions next year!
Being in a cinema, I tried to stay off my phone. That only lasted a couple of minutes as Xbox boss Phil Spencer explained they would be showcasing 60 titles this year, 10 more than last year’s show. This news is too good not to share! Of those there were 11 world premieres and 14 games from Xbox Game Studios, as well as 34 games premiering in Xbox Game Pass. Speaking of which, the Xbox Game Pass has arrived as a beta on PC through the new Xbox app which is available today on Windows 10. Xbox announced a variety of new games that are available with Xbox Game Pass for Console starting today, including Metro Exodus, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Batman: Arkham Knight. As Phil Spencer worded it:
“It’s great to celebrate with our incredible fans and show how we are delivering against our vision to empower gamers to play the games they want, with the friends they want, wherever they want. With thousands of Xbox games in development, we curated our show around our players, with new titles premiering in Xbox Game Pass across console and PC, and game streaming that enables them to play their favorite games, with their friends, wherever they go.”
Then came the games, and they did not disappoint. Here are 30 of the games announced today in alphabetical order, with trailers and US release dates where known.

At one point he said “breathtaking”, to which a fan in the audience yelled, “you’re breathtaking!” and he then pointed back at the crowd and said, “no you’re breathtaking!” before getting back on script.
