Outright Games, Universal Games and Digital Platforms have announced that Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R, a brand-new action-racing game inspired by the popular Netflix original series Fast & Furious Spy Racers will be zooming its way on to consoles and PC this November.
Developed by Italian-based studio 3DClouds, Fast & Furious Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R aims to bring the same intense action that the series is known for, inviting players to participate in a globe-trotting racing tournament across locales such as Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro and the Sahara Desert.
The game features a story mode, as well as online and split-screen multiplayer modes for up to to six players.
Playing as the Spy Racers crew in the story mode, your goal is to stop the shady criminal racing gang known as SH1FT3R from getting their greasy mitts on the tournaments prize, an ultimate vehicle that could cause chaos if it were to fall into the hands of the evil organisation.
Players can race as their favourite members of the Spy Racers team such as Tony Toretto (Dom’s Cousin), Echo, Cisco, and Layla Gray, or instead opt to assume the role of a member of the notorious crime syndicate SH1FT3R when playing multiplayer.
As seen in the reveal trailer, the game also features combat, with various spy weapons to tinker with throughout races. Weapons such as a paint ball blast and a bomb projectile are both shown to slow fellow racers down, while the giant shield item presumably protects racers from enemy attacks.
While I’m not a big fan of the core Fast & Furious entries let alone the animated spin-off, I am a fan of zany and silly racing games, so I’ll be keeping my eyes on this one.
Fast & Furious Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC this November.
