Okay Fortnite, I owe you an apology.
So much so that me and my regular co-op cohort, Ronald P Corbett (DING), put our money where our mouths are and bought PUBG for $40.
Now – PUBG and I had a better initial experience… I actually got a kill in my first sortie. But from there, it was all downhill for me and PUBG.
It was mainly to do with the initial render when you landed… for whatever reason, the structures were “blocky”, and it took sometimes up to 20 seconds for the structures to render so I could at least open a door and start rummaging.
And therein lies the problem… I got done a few times whilst it was still rendering… which just ain’t fair.
Say it with me people… #BILLCOLM!!!!!
So – around a week or so ago, Ronnie (DING) and I flicked back over to Fortnite, and it’s been a much better experience.
Like, 1000% better…
In my humble opinion, on console (XBOX), Fortnite is a better experience, despite the bloody jumping and bloody building.
I still think the Fortnite people got it wrong though… I truly believe the game would be better with longer battles between protagonists (remember how you could be on a death-lick in Goldeneye and still manage a win – oh the joy!), and I reckon if the Fortnite devs could create a lobby where you could play WITHOUT the building function, you’d have a lot more happy gamers playing that one rather than PUBG.
But hey – that’s just my opinion.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Fortnite and PUBG when Realms Royale hits the consoles… if in fact it actually does.
But right now – I’m back on the Fortnite bandwagon… and next time, I’ll listen to the voice of reason from the great GOA community – you beautiful people you!
As a recovering Fortnite noob, I recommend giving it more than 6 hours, you’ll get the hang of it 👌
