FORTNITE has brought a new huge crossover into their ever-expanding roster this week – Dragon Ball. Iconic characters like Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and Beerus have all been added to the game as playable cosmetics. With them comes a month-long Dragon-Ball themed event with new emotes, new quests and new gameplay items.
Dragon Ball needs no introduction – it is the most popular anime and manga series ever created. Its inclusion into Fortnite has been a long time coming. Fortnite fans have been pleading for Goku since the game began. Memes about Goku and Vegeta sharing a chug-jug have finally come to life with this new event.
Goku’s famous Kamehameha, is available to find while playing and lets players shoot a devastating laser at their opponents. Goku’s Nimbus Cloud is also available, and it opens up the entire island for aerial travel. You can get them from Capsule Corp drops across the map – essentially letting you play as Goku, in regular Fortnite.
New Dragon Ball-themed adventure islands are available in-game that let you explore iconic Dragon Ball locations through Fortnite. These adventure islands provide unique challenges to complete, that ultimately will help you collect the Dragon Balls and complete quests that unlock new Dragon Ball items.
The Power Unleashed questline is available to all players, and gives items for completion. Completing these quests raises your power-level, and gives you a Dragon Ball. These limited time quests grant a unique Shenron Glider upon completion, as well as various sprays and other cosmetics.
The event also has an interesting feature – a Dragon Ball Super watch party. In Fortnite, you can go to specific custom-built islands with your friends and watch full episodes of Dragon Ball Super. I’ve never really thought of watching Dragon Ball episodes in Fortnite before, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.
Dragon Ball’s inclusion is a big deal for Fortnite, and they know it. They’ve gone all out on representing Dragon Ball as well as possible. For the long-time requesters of Goku, it’s a dream come true. The Power Unleashed quest-line continues until August 30th, while the other events are available until September 18th. Get in while you can!
