You heard the announcement on the Game On AUS podcast last week that New Line Cinema has chosen Adelaide the location for the up and coming reboot of the Mortal Kombat movie franchise!
This means a couple of very exciting things:
One – we’re getting a new freaking MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE!
Two – a “toastyyyyyy” amount of jobs will be created.
It’s estimated that 580 employees will be needed to make the project happen, which will also include post-production taking place in Adelaide.
On top of this number, 1500 extras are expected to take their place in the halls of fighting game history as part of the filming of the movie, and now we’re starting to see the details emerge of how you can be a part of it.
The Mortal Kombat Production team have set up an email address that you can send an expression of interest to be an extra:
extra.mortalkombat@wbprod.com
Expressions sent to that email address will be forwarded onto the casting agents who will be tasked with finding the on-screen talent for filming.
There’s no information as to what to include in your email other than “I’m interested”, but casting agents AAA Talent Agency have said in a recent facebook post that they’re on the hunt for expressions of interest that include age, gender, ethnicity, and a photograph attached, and to send to mail@aaa-talent.com.au with the subject heading “EXTRAS”, as they find a lot of talent for Adelaide projects and will most likely be on hand for the up and coming Mortal Kombat movie.
