Logitech G815 or G915? Here’s what you need to know

Logitech have been a personal choice for me for quite a while, from the generic keyboard mouse combo through secondary school to the G15 gaming keyboard with the red/orange screen colour and backlit keys.

We have reviewed the G915 Wireless version of the G815, (as my colleague has mentioned the overall specs and special parts of these particular boards found here https://www.gameonaus.com/logitech-g915-wireless-gaming-keyboard-review/)

I wont go over every little fine detail but I will point out what differs before you say “But aren’t they the same, just wired vs wireless?” this is more of a “One isn’t better than the other but here is what differs” review..

The G815 is wired, being wired allows the inclusion of a USB 2.0 port that is direct passthrough, meaning you can attach a USB hub directly to the keyboard and have quick connect devices right at your fingertips, this is great if you have a headset with a slightly shorter cable or for whatever reason your machine doesn’t have an abundance of USB ports.

The cable is a nice interwoven braided type that doesn’t get snagged or caught on anything as well as looks the part giving you a premium feel and look.

Before getting my hands on the G815 I was using another Logitech full-size keyboard. One thing I worried about was the lack of palm/wrist rest with the shift to the new board as I am often at my desk 8 to 10 hours a day typing.

I found moving from the bigger bulkier keyboard to a slimmer more streamline setup, I was able to touch type immediately from the get-go at a higher rate than on the previous board! Nice!In the other review Dylan used the clicky type keys. I am personally not a fan of the loud “clicky” type of keyboard and prefer a more tactile feel without the loud click.

Which worked out great as the tactile model I received for review is right up my alley. With solid keystrokes you feel satisfied at every press with out any doubt.

Over all I have used this keyboard for near on 2 weeks now for both work and gaming, I can safely say this is one of the best keyboards I have used in the last 5 years when it comes to size/formfactor.

The G915 and G815 are the same body shape and depending on the type of key mechanism you choose will decide how it feels!

If you are looking for a keyboard and aren’t too worried about wired/wireless either the G815 or G915 are a solid choice for your work/game/creative life!
