Lost Ark is an action-packed free-to-play RPG that mixes isometric action combat from ARPGs with the massively multiplayer aspects of MMORPGs, wrapped up in the vibrant world of Arkesia. Developed by Smilegate RPG and published by Amazon Game Studios here in the west, it’s set for release on February 11, 2022 (Feb 12 for us here in ANZ). The game has been fully released in the South Korean region since December 2019, so those with VPN’s may already be well versed in the game’s systems and lore. For those of us in the West that have been patiently waiting, preloads are now available as of this morning and you don’t have to have pre-ordered a founder pack to preload.
I bought the silver founder’s pack and anyone that does will gain head start access on Tuesday, February 8 at 9AM Pacific time (1AM AWST Wednesday / 4AM AEDT). If you decide you want to purchase a founder’s pack at any time during the head start, you will be able to play for the remainder of the head start period leading into launch on the 11th. Servers for all regions will open for launch on Friday, February 11 at 9AM Pacific (1AM AWST Saturday / 4AM AEDT). Players will be able to play for free from then on.
In terms of servers, there are no Oceanic or even South East Asia servers for us. The only options are Europe, North America – East, North America – West and South America. For a full list of servers within these regions, visit this post on the Lost Ark website. However, after spending the weekend looking at Oceanic communities and twitter discussions, the server I will be rolling on is Valtan in North America – West list.
It’s certainly an exciting week and I’m looking forward to the head start launch on Wednesday for us here in ANZ. No doubt there’s going to be login queues but hopefully it settles down pretty quickly.
