The side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStory, developed by Nexon and originally released in South Korea in 2003 and the rest of the world in 2005, received the next evolution of the game last month with the Glory: Strengthened Alliances update. In this next phase of the game, Maplers can join the legendary Glory Guard as part of the Glory event, running through to January 29, 2020. During this time, players will receive Glory, earn Special Supply Boxes, and meet with exciting new missions as they progress through the ranks of the Maple Alliance’s Glory Guard forces.
A new class was also added to the game earlier this month. Hoyoung, a dashing rogue from Grandis, is an Anima thief who learned the art of magic in the realm of the sages. Releasing the seal of Taotie, a fearsome fiend who visited chaos upon Grandis in the distant past, Hoyoung departs from the tranquil valley he has called home, setting off on a journey into the world. Use Heaven Skills to blast through foes while airborne, unleash Earth Skills to turn the ground against monsters or stay flexible with a collection of Humanity Skills like the wide-striking As-You-Will Fan!
The Tera Burning in-game event runs through to January 29, 2020 and there’s something for veteran players as well as great incentives to start fresh characters and level them to level 200. To do this, create a brand-new character during the event period and select it to have the special “Burning” effect. This event is open to characters in both Reboot and non-Reboot worlds, except for Zero and Hoyoung characters. After your character reaches Lv. 10, every time that character levels up it will gain an additional two levels all the way up to Lv. 200.
In addition to all this, you’ll also earn amazing rewards along the way, including permanent Root Abyss and Fafnir gear! And if that wasn’t enough, each time your character levels up between Lv. 201 and 220, you’ll receive Arcane Symbols – all you have to do is accept the ‘Tera Burning Project Arcane Symbols’ quest!
Just a few days ago, Nexon published a preview of the next content update for MapleStory, called Glory: Saviour of Hope. A full preview can be read here, and check out the trailer below.
