FIRAXIS Games and 2K announced today that Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed for a second time. The announcement came early this morning via Marvel’s Midnight Suns official socials citing the dev teams decision. Understandably, the dev team would prefer to “deliver the best possible experience for fans.” They’ve also said it’s meant to be the biggest game they’ve ever made.
The tactical RPG, from the creators of XCOM, was initially set to release earlier this year, but was pushed back to October 7. While the announcement doesn’t provide us with a specific release date, the teams says that we should expect it by the end of the fiscal year. PC, Xbox X|S and Playstation 5 players will be getting Marvel’s Midnight Suns first. Last gen Xbox/Playstation and Nintendo Switch players however will have to wait until a later date.
The news of this second delay comes just two months after Firaxis Games and 2K made huge announcements at Summer Games Fest ’22. Along with the now defunct launch date, the devs revealed new game footage, character reveals and pre-order/Collector’s Edition bonuses.
Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man were revealed via the games new trailer and cover art alongside Iron-Man, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Blade, and a brand new character named Hunter. Playing the role of Hunter, you’ll lead them and other Marvel characters in a fight against the underworld. The mother of all demons, Lillith, brings her own army of Fallen versions of Marvel characters. Including the Hulk, Venom, Sabretooth, and Scarlet Witch.
Lillith and her army of Fallen will also feature in their own cover on the Legendary Edition of Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The Legendary Edition comes with a whopping 23 cosmetics skins. The other editions all feature the Midnight Suns and also include multiple cosmetic skins. Which is as much as what’s reportedly included in the premium editions.
