After its initial March 2022 launch was delayed until later this year, Marvel’s Midnight Suns finally has a release date. Marvel Entertainment and 2K made the big announcement during Summer Games Fest 2022, along with new game footage, newly announced characters and pre-order/product info.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to launch on October 7, 2022 for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nintendo Switch will also be getting the game as promised, but unfortunately won’t be until a later date, which is yet to be announced.
Featuring some of Marvel’s most beloved characters, Marvel’s Midnight Suns puts you in the shoes of a brand new character called The Hunter. The tactical RPG follows in the footsteps of other Firaxis Games franchises such as Civilization and, in particular, XCOM. You’ll be joining such characters as Wolverine, Blade and Iron Man in the fight against the mother of demons, Lilith, in a supernatural, darker setting of the Marvel Universe. A new cinematic trailer was also shown during Summer Games Fest 2022 revealing other characters both on your side and Lilith’s.
In the cinematic trailer, we see Lilith team up with Fallen versions of well known Marvel characters. You’ll go up against Venom, Sabretooth, Hulk and the Scarlet Witch in the fight against the underworld. Scarlet Witch will also be joining you in the fight against Lilith, along with everyone’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
And like any other 2K title, Marvel’s Midnight Suns comes in multiple basic and premium versions that are available to pre-order from today. A Basic Edition is available that includes just the base game for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC for $99.95. However, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners get an added five premium cosmetic skins in the Enhanced Edition with optimized-visuals for $109.95.
But last gen console/PC owners can still get their hands on bonus cosmetics if they purchase either the Digital+ Edition or Legendary Edition. Available across all platforms, The Digital+ Edition comes with 11 premium cosmetic skins. While the Legendary Edition, which comes with alternate artwork of Lilith and her team of Fallen, includes 23 cosmetic skins.
