Back in the ’80s and intto the early ’90s, there used to be a rocking gaming magazine called Zzap!64.
It was literally the hub for all things gaming on the Commodore 64 and into the Amiga 500, produced monthly. I’d hit the newsagents at the same time every month, money in hand, to get the latest in gaming.
One year, they published a story about a gaming chair / enclosure that promised to change the face of gaming. It rocked, it rumbled, it lit up, etc.
People went completely bonkers over it… remember, this was the late ’80s.
Imagine their (and my dismay) when the next edition confirmed that it was all an April Fool’s joke… bang bang, got ya!
So, when the Game On AUS office got an email about some sensory Nanoleaf Light Panels and Canvas that will expand your gaming experience, the 16 year old nerd in me let down by that cruel April Fool’s joke all those years ago was, shall we say, a little cynical.
Turns out, it’s 100% legit. Check this out.
This from the press release from Nanoleaf:
Gaming is also transformed with Screen Mirror, taking battles and scrimmages to a 4D experience that envelopes the entire room. Take your entertainment from a mere screen setup to complete surround vision that captivates all of your senses at once.
So, it sort of ends up looking like this:
100% epic. How good would this be for the gamer in your life that has everything… (well, almost everything, now that we’ve seen this)
