WITH just over a month to go before the launch of NBA 2K22, 2K have announced the artists appearing on the games soundtrack. However this years soundtrack launch will be a little different from other years. While we’ve had instant access to a large chunk of the games soundtrack in the past, this years iteration will release music periodically.
The soundtrack for NBA 2K22 will have new music added to it every season in a new feature called “First Fridays”, where new music tracks are added to the game on the first Friday of the season. Over 30 artists have been confirmed to appear on the games soundtrack so far, including Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion and Aussie duo A.B Original.
“We’ve built NBA 2K to be one of the gold standards for video game soundtracks,” said David Kelley, Senior Manager, Partnerships & Licensing at 2K. “This year, the opportunity to evolve the experience for players by creating moments where we can debut and share incredible new music is another step toward how we are bringing together the real-world of basketball culture with our game through music, not only through well-known artists, but also providing our players an opportunity to get in the game and showcase their own talents.”
Players will also be given the chance to showcase their own tracks with another feature called the Producer Series. This is where players can create their own beats in game. More details about Producer Series are said to be announced closer to NBA 2K22’s launch.
