Next level immersion with Alienware AW3423DWF QD-OLED Monitor

THE Alienware 34in AW3423DWF Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor is an impressive addition to any gaming setup. With its impressive 34-inch curved display, Quantum Dot technology, and OLED panel, this monitor offers a stunning visual experience that is perfectly suited to gamers.

Before we can continue this review, we need to know what OLED and Quantum Dot technology is. Put simply, this technology allows colours to look more bright and vivid using microscopic semiconductor crystals.

Not only does this allows displays to produce a broader and more accurate range of colours but also increases its energy efficiency. Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) is the technology behind our phones screens and many existing TV’s and monitors. These screens work through tiny pixels that light up, allowing more detail and vibrancy, while keeping the screen thin. The combination of these technologies is what makes this monitor outstanding in many ways.

One of the key benefits of this monitor is its immersive design, the combination of the slightly curved construction with the display technology make this an excellent gaming monitor. The OLED technology provides high contrast ratios and deep blacks, while the QD technology enhances the peak brightness of the display, resulting in a more realistic gaming visuals. It is a truly immersive gaming experience using this monitor and it was very easy to feel transported into the various worlds I played in while completing this review.

The Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor also boasts a high refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a fast response time of 0.5ms. This means that the monitor can keep up with fast-paced action, delivering smooth and fluid gameplay with minimal lag or ghosting. It is also important to mention the monitor also features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Technology and VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification. This technology works with your computer to ensure fast-moving graphics look clearer, so you can react quickly during gameplay. The monitor responds very quickly, in just 0.1 milliseconds, and can refresh the screen up to 165 times per second. This means your games will look really smooth and won’t have any delays between what’s happening in the game and what you see on the screen.

I had a flawless experience while playing a wide range of games from FPS to RPG, I felt confident in the monitors ability to keep up with the various graphical environments.

In World of Warcraft, I found the size of the screen to be incredibly useful when organising and engaging with my user interface; and whilst playing Fortnite, the screen refresh rate was outstanding compared to my previous screen and allowed for seamless gameplay.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the colours were incredibly vibrant and even the darkest parts of the game still maintained excellent detail. For gamers who demand precision and speed, this monitor is an excellent choice.

There are also many other features that are not specific to gaming. If you’re a content creator or a game developer that needs to perform precise colour-critical work, you’ll be pleased to know that the new Creator Mode feature has been designed specifically for you. This feature allows users to select either the native (DCI-P3) or sRGB color space based on your work requirements, as well as adjust the gamma settings for even greater control.

In addition to Creator Mode, the monitor also boasts a Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) feature, allowing you to view two PC sources at the same time. I don’t have two PC’s however I can imagine that feature would take productivity to the next level.
