To start off this first entry, let’s go back 30 odd hours ago. On Monday morning, Australian time, I had arrived at Sydney International Airport full of excitement for the journey ahead. A trip I never thought I’d be invited to, the Borderlands 3 Gameplay Reveal Event. Just as I finished ordering breakfast and a much needed coffee, I bumped into 2K ANZ Community Manager, Pez, and aussie Twitch streamers, Chinglish and Ziggy D. After filling ourselves up with grub, we caught our ride over to Los Angeles.
Almost 13 hours later, Monday morning USA time, we finally landed in L.A. somewhat rested but still full of adrenaline. We also met up with other Aussie Twitch streamers and media journalists invited to the big event. I checked in and grabbed some coffee to give me a boost to keep me awake on my first day. Especially since we were heading to Six Flags theme park as well.We all had a very fun time and it became a good opportunity to interact with Twitch streamers whom before today I had only talked to in the chat box of their stream. Myself and New Zealand Twitch streamer, LoriiPops, even became Roller Coaster buddies for the day.
Seven rides later, we arrived back out our hotel with a swag bag full of Borderlands 3 goodies each waiting for as. As well as my first ever lanyard that says “Media.” This got me more excited for the event ahead of us. After a quick rest, we rendevoused for pizza, wings and a few cheeky drinks.
Now I’m laying in bed and luckily my body has successfully alligned with L.A. time. I’m tired yet pumped for the big event tomorrow, still in disbelief that I’m one of the first in the world to play Borderlands 3.
Mayhem is coming…
