It’s been 10 months since No Man’s Sky’s last major chapter VISIONS was released for free. No Man’s Sky VISIONS introduced new planetary biomes, more colourful worlds, new fauna and flora, archaeology, salvaging, and much more. Now after several months of waiting, the next major free update will be No Man’s Sky BEYOND and will release August 14 (15th for us Aussies). Originally announced in March this year, BEYOND promised a radical new social and multiplayer experience as well as enabling Virtual Reality which will bring the experience to PlayStation VR and Steam VR, and will be released simultaneously on both platforms.
In April this year we were informed of the third piece of the BEYOND puzzle by adding Vulkan support. This will bring many PC players a vast performance improvement, particularly for AMD GPU users. One of the biggest changes for me though is, they are finally removing the long ‘LOADING SHADERS’ section when first logging into a game! All three of these major updates will be included when BEYOND drops, free to all existing players, on August 14th, 2019 (15th for us Aussies).
I will certainly be jumping back in to have a look, as I do with each major update. The No Man’s Sky NEXT update was seriously good stuff and it will be great to see how BEYOND changes things with proper multiplayer content. It’s not going to be a full MMORPG experience, but will be interesting to see how it changes the dynamics of the game. Will you be giving it a go? Let us know over in the Game on AUS God Mode group.
