Aussie metal band Northlane and Rainbow 6 ANZ have teamed to announce Clockwork as the official theme of the Rainbow 6 Siege (R6S) Oceanic Nationals (OCN) for 2021.
The multiple ARIA award-winning band bring their unique mix of electronic, metal, and earworm melody to Clockwork, with pacing to suit the competitive action of Rainbow 6 Siege.
The release of Clockwork comes after the recent news of Northlane changing to work with independent record label Believe and the amicable departure of bassist Brendon Padjasek.
As part of the Esports Bar+ America’s event last year, the MIDiA research team discussed the future of music and esports. The team from MIDiA, who research esports viewership audiences, proposed music could be the key to generating non-endemic growth for esports. In turn, esports could reignite the fandom and monetisation for the music industry. After the disruption of 2020, the match of Northlane and Rainbow 6 Siege ANZ is a fantastic opportunity for both brands to grow their audience in Oceania and internationally.
The Rainbow 6 Siege (R6S) Oceanic Nationals (OCN) 2021 kicks off on March 21, where the Clockwork by Northlane will feature during the streamed esports action on Twitch – twitch.tv/rainbow6.
It’s set to be a big year for Rainbow Six Siege action in Oceania. The region will continue to run the Oceanic Nationals (OCN), alongside a new Oceanic Challenger League (OCL). The best teams in the OCL will have a promotion opportunity into the OCN. The best team from the OCN will earn a place to compete in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) league. Last year we saw Wildcard Gaming take out the November 6 Oceanic Major, and they will be the team to beat leading in to the 2021 OCN season.
Thankfully for Northlane fans, they will have the opportunity to see them live soon. Northlane features with a stacked line-up of artists as part of the Full Tilt Festival. The Full Tilt Festival is sold out for the Melbourne show, but tickets are still available for fans in Adelaide and Brisbane through Destroy All Lines.
