LENSE technology used on the sports field is about to be used in the gaming community. Sunglass brand Oakley has recently launched a new line of blue-light glasses for gamers using combining style and visual enhancement. They’re said to have long-lasting all day comfort while also being headset compatible. Reducing 40% of blue-light and the yellow tint that can come with it, Oakley Prizm Gaming lenses use the same technology as the Prizm Football Shield. These same lenses are also used on and now off the field by Madden NFL player, James Derwin.
“I rely on my Prizm Football Shield to pick up details on the field so I can make game-changing plays. It is pretty cool that the same technology is used across sports – golf, snowboarding and now gaming,” said James. “With Prizm Gaming, I’m ready to take on the world. Who wants to play?”
Oakley will also be working closely with James after partnering with EA Sports and the Madden NFL 21 Championship Series for a weekly tournament called “Derwin James vs. The World“. Starting September 15, James will go up against athletes, celebrities and music artists for the crown.
“As a brand rooted in competition, we are thrilled to continue our expansion in the gaming space,” says Ben Goss, Oakley’s Global Marketing Director. “This is an industry defined by the same passion for performance that’s driven our brand for generations. The launch of Prizm™ Gaming is the result of applying that same passion for performance while continuing to bridge the gap between physical and digital sports. We’re excited to equip gamers everywhere with the gear needed to take their game and style to the next level.”
The launch of Oakley Prizm Gaming will soon be followed by an eye-wear collaboration with Turtle Beach.
Oakley Prizm Gaming can be found at all good Sunglass retailers and Oakley.com.
