According to the 2021 Capcom Annual Report, Resident Evil Village will receive free DLC at some point in the future after the game released in May. While the large report contains plenty of interesting information, such as the lifetime sales figures of Capcom’s great franchises, deep in the report was the following statement by Director and Executive Corporate Officer Yoichi Egawa:
“We will drive our customer management to understand the playing trends and preferences of users while also building a business model for online operations, taking into account the situation of our free additional DLC for titles such as Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.”
While it was initially revealed back in June that development of additional content for Resident Evil Village had begun, it was never stated whether the DLC would be free or not. We still don’t have any idea what exactly the additional content will be either. Personally, I’m hoping for more story DLC instead of perhaps more Mercenaries Mode content, but in saying that I’m open to try whatever comes out, seeing as its free! Here’s to hoping it’s something special, as I’d love to dive back into Resident Evil Village.
