EXPECT lots of mech fighting when you and your squad represent Tokyo in the Combat Revue World Games when Sakura Wars comes out on April 28. A first look at combat has just been revealed giving us a glimpse of what to expect when your squad go up against Shanghai, London and Berlin. And you better show your boss Sumire Kanzaki what you’re made of. If Tokyo don’t win the games, the squad is no more.
The rules are simple, though the path forward is anything but:
- Every match is a three-on-three team battle spread across three rounds.
- You’ll select two squad members who will fight alongside you.
- Each team scores points by defeating targets located around the tournament arena.
- These points contribute to a tug-of-war-like gauge. Win by overpowering your opponent in that gauge or by scoring the most points overall at the end of the match.
Test your combat revue skills when Sakura Wars launches on Playstation 4 April 28.
