THE 7th annual Melbourne International Games Week officially starts this Saturday on October 2nd and runs until October 10th. But the festivities have actually started early with the first ever Steam Festival beginning today. From now until 4AM AEST on October 5th, Steam will be hosting a plethora of panels, talks, game presentations and concerts with popular video game development talent. The Steam Festival will also be offering interactive content in the form of playable demos for locally-made Victorian games as well special sales.
Events on offer include “Games Made in Victoria” which include games by Victorian game studios, “Developing JUSTICE SUCKS: Recharged” game dev panel, NEXT in (Video Game) Fashion panel and much more. The Steam Festival stream, schedule plus much more can be found here.
