Fellow gamers, let me take you back to a time. A time where the Commodore 64 was the gaming console (well, PC) of choice.
Where gamers had to venture down to the nearest arcade to play the very latest in gaming excellence.
Where some bastard invented a cube that many gamers (like me) knew they should have the skillset to solve it, but couldn’t (like me).
Yes, I admit it, I was one of the people who used to remove the stickers and rearrange the cube in order to solve it. A cheater!
Well, the good news is that thanks to glorious technology, there’s now an app and version of the famous cube that not only teaches how to solve it, it teaches you how to get FASTER at solving it. It keeps a track of all your stats and bloody yes, there’s a global leaderboard.
What is it with gamers and leaderboards? Must be the competitive beast at work?
WATCH HOW IT WORKS:
Who knows? One of us may end up getting so good at the cube that they could represent GOA at a future Speedcubers championship. The Rubik’s World Cup 2020 finals take place on November 7th, which will include the digitised cubes.
Bloody yes! Game ON!
