The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm DLC Preview

If you’re a PC player of The Elder Scrolls Online, no doubt you’ve already spent the night patching up the latest Harrowstorm DLC from Zenimax Studios. This Update 25 patch also overhauled the whole game directory structure and required a complete redownload of the whole game, but it’s worth it! Console players will have to wait until March 10, but let me tell you about the two newest dungeons to be added to the game – Icereach and Unhallowed Grave.

2019 was the Season of the Dragon for ESO players where we saw the epic chapter update, The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr. 2020 looks bigger and better as we head into the revered lands of Skyrim, in the Dark Heart of Skyrim epic adventure storyline and The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor chapter update coming early June. Players will be able to set upon a journey that will take us into Skyrim’s darkest reaches with The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm, a new dungeon DLC game pack available for free as part of an ESO Plus Membership, or free-to-play players can use in-game Crowns to buy the DLC pack. Investigate a supernatural storm in Icereach and delve into the accursed depths of Unhallowed Grave as you discover the dark forces that threaten Skryim in this first installment of a year-long saga!

    Storm over Skyrim’s Coast

The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm DLC Preview

North of Skyrim and across the perilous Sea of Ghosts lies the frigid island of Icereach, home to the reclusive witches of the Icereach Coven. Reportedly originating from this barren rock, a terrible storm is lashing Skyrim’s northern coast, sinking longships and threatening the lives and livelihoods of the local Nords. When you arrive on the mysterious isle, you discover that the coven’s frenzied defenders overwhelmed the members of the lost party. However, there are survivors, and amongst their number is a powerful ally: the indomitable Lyris Titanborn! I can’t wait to be fighting alongside the mighty Lyris again!

Should you put an end to the schemes of the Icereach Coven, you’ll acquire items and collectibles not available anywhere else in Tamriel. This includes four new gear sets (including a monster set) and collectibles such as style pages, dyes, furnishings, and more! For example, the Titanborn Strength medium set improves your effectiveness with physical weapons and continues to strengthen your attacks as you take damage in combat. Perfect for the warrior who likes to fight right in the thick of it—like any good Nord!

    A Lost Duty

The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm DLC Preview

An age ago, the local legion buried the remnants of a great evil deep beneath Bangkorai’s sands. To guard over the tomb site, the garrison founded a new organization called the Pyre Watch. With each new generation of guardians, more of their original purpose became lost to time, but the tradition continued regardless. Now, the Pyre Watch has all but one member, and as result, raiders have invaded the tomb. The sole remaining member of the Pyre Watch, Shelaria, needs your help to explore the Unhallowed Grave and clear out the vile Draugrkin.

In addition to a horde of soldiers, beasts, and necromancers, Unhallowed Grave brings a host of new, challenging bosses for you and your team to overcome. This includes ancient stone guardians, powerful liches, and the mercenary leaders themselves—be careful that they don’t add your bones to the piles already scattered throughout! The dead are not the only things buried beneath Bangkorai, and as you fight your way to the heart of the mystery behind the mercenary group’s attack, you can uncover a host of unique rewards. This includes four new gear sets (three regular and a monster set), collectibles, and furnishings, including the Grave Guardian heavy set, which boosts you and your group’s resistances when you block.

Just look at those armour sets – so good for tanks and dps characters! I’ll definitely be jumping back into the game and queuing up for these dungeons and aiming for these armour sets. The cool thing is, this all prepares us for what’s to come in the next chapter update, The Elder Scrolls: Greymoor, coming early June for PC and console players. Here’s the amazing cinematic trailer to get you pumped!

    Update 25 – Patching Overhaul

The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm DLC Preview

When you load up the ESO Launcher today, you’ll notice a ~54gb update to download. Fret not, this is complete overhaul of the game’s directory and file structure, all to improve the efficiency and loading of assets in the game to improve our game experience. Most notably, this change dramatically reduces the patch sizes for all future updates, and it results in a major reduction of space taken up by the client on your machine’s hard drive. As a “thank you” to the community for completing the re-download, we’ll be able to grab the Crimson Torchbug Pet completely free. This glowing gift can be found under the Pets category of the in-game Crown Store and is available only for two weeks after Update 25’s launch.

The Elder Scrolls Online Harrowstorm DLC game pack is available now for PC players for free as part of an ESO Plus Membership, or free-to-play players can use in-game Crowns to buy the DLC pack. Console players will be able to jump in from March 10. Also don’t forget we have a Game on AUS guild within the game. If you’d like to join, either search for the guild in-game or contact me through the Game on AUS – God Mode Facebook group or GOA Discord. Get excited legends!
