The GOA Game of the Decade

It’s almost the end of 2019, can you believe it? It’s also almost the end of the decade which doesn’t happen very often. To celebrate this occasion, we thought we’d reach out to the legendary Game on AUS community to help us crown the GOA Game of the Decade over the final month of 2019. I’ve canvassed our GOA admin team and asked them what their favourite game was from each year of the last decade, from 2010 through to 2019. Our admin team covers a vast cross section of games across the various consoles, PC, as well as having many gaming years under our collective belts.

As “The Historian” I love looking back on games of old and remembering what I was doing when I was playing a particular game. Let me tell you, it was bloody hard for all of us to choose just one favourite game per year, with lots of “honourable mention to this title” and some years being real talking points. Our very own Stix wrote an article in 2017 where he suggested that year was the golden age of gaming. Eventually we came up with a list of 100 games consisting of what we deemed to be the 10 best games from each year in the decade, 2010 to 2019.

We now need your help. What we hope to achieve is for you, our glorious GOA community, to determine a couple of categories from the last decade 2010-2019, based on your votes:

    • The best game of each year with a special highlight on the 2019 Game of the Year
    • The top 20 games of the decade
    • The 10 games that make the finalists for the GOA Game of the Decade
    • The ultimate GOA Game of the Decade

By casting your votes over the next few weeks, together we will be able to take a look back at the last decade and shine a spotlight on some amazing games. Voting will close on December 28 and the winners announced on December 31! We’ll crown a 2019 Game of the Year along with one game being crowned the best of the best for the past decade as voted by you, our glorious Game on AUS community. Get voting now via the voting form.

    Game on legends!
