MOTHER’S Day is rapidly sneaking up on us – it’s on Sunday, May 8 if you forgot – but there’s still time to get mum (or the mum in your life) a thoughtful gaming related gift.
This year we’ve gone with a peripherals and accessories theme, and have hand-picked a selection of everything from power banks to console controllers and more to help give mum an improved gaming experience – no matter what platform she prefers!
Here’s our gift guide suggestions for Mother’s Day 2022:
BELKIN BOOSTCHARGE POWERBANK 10K
There’s no such thing as too much spare battery capacity when you’re out and about, and the Belkin Powerbank 10K offers 10,000mAh of charge in it s
The device can charge via one USB-C or two USB-A ports; if you charge via the USB-C port alone you get 15W output, if you use one USB-A output it’s 12W and if you use both USB-A ports it shares 12W between them; plugging in all three ports shares 15W of power.
Perfect for keeping a smartphone tablet, or Nintendo Switch topped up, the Powerbank 10K can provide up to an additional 36 hours of video playback and may be just the thing for Mum to keep in her handbag for when the dreaded low battery warning comes up on her device(s).

There’s a pretty good chance Mum really wants some peace and quiet – and what better way to give her that than a set of noise-cancelling earbuds?
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds can offer exactly that – stylish, high-quality peace and quiet (via the noise cancelling) and excellent sound quality no matter whether they’re playing music, audio from videos, or sound from games.
They’re not cheap, but between the sound quality, IPX4 rating, wireless charging, and stylish looks, there’s a lot of appeal here.

The Prime Mini offers a versatile, portable, wireless option for gamers wanting a competition-level mouse, has customisable buttons, DPI and RGB settings, and can also be used as a wired mouse via the included USB cable too.
It’s a well-built peripheral and for anyone with smaller hands, well worth considering.

LOGITECH G915 WIRELESS KEYBOARD
Logitech made very good keyboards and mice, and the Logitech G915 Wireless Keyboard is an excellent example of a quality gaming peripheral which the enthusiast gaming mum will very much appreciate.

SONY PLAYSTATION 5 DUALSENSE CONTROLLER
Everyone knows you can never have too many console controllers – whether it’s for hot swapping when a battery goes flat, because one’s fallen down the side of couch and you can’t reach it, or because you’ve got friends over and want to do some couch co-op
The PlayStation 5 DualSense controller is no exception to this, and if your mum is a PlayStation fan then she is likely to very much appreciate an additional controller – especially if it makes it easier for you to game together!
As a bonus, the controllers are currently available in four colours – white, black, red, and blue, so you can pick one in a colour mum likes best too.
RRP: AUD$109.95 (White/black), AUD$119 (red), AUD$129 (blue)
MICROSOFT XBOX SERIES X/S WIRELESS CONTROLLER
If your mum has an Xbox (or a PC, for that matter), then an additional controller is still very much an option – in this case, with the Xbox Wireless Controller.
The controllers will work with the Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as the Xbox One X and One S too, so even if mum has an older console she can still make use of these; they can also be plugged into a PC via USB too.
The controllers is available in black, white, red, blue, or “volt” (green) – so if nothing else, there’ll be no doubt over which controller belongs to mum.
RRP: AUD$89.95 (Black/White), AUD$94.95 (Blue/Red/Volt)
BOSE FRAMES TEMPO SUNGLASSES-EARPHONES
We’ve saved the best for last here, because this product is truly something interesting. It is a pair of sports sunglasses with built-in earphones, allowing the wearer to have sunglasses on and still enjoy music or sound – yet still be aware of their surroundings, and also not disturb others at the same time.
The sound quality in the Bose Tempo Frames is amazing; they are comfortable to wear and are a good pair of sunglasses too – and yes, it is entirely possible to play games on smartphones and tablets with these; they work surprisingly well for that too.
If mum spends a lot of time outdoors, and likes to have a smartphone with her while she’s doing it, you can’t go wrong getting her a pair of these.
