IT’S that time of year again where 2K searches for the next big thing in music to add to the NBA 2K soundtrack. 2K Beats: The Search is an opportunity open to artists worldwide who not only want to reach out to an even larger audience but have their songs heard in an NBA 2K game. In it’s third year, 2K have partnered with SoundCloud in the annual search for musical talent which is open from now until December 15, 2021.
2K Beats: The Search will also allow the world to hear more from the Australian music scene. The world has already had a small taste of local music flare in this years NBA 2K22, featuring Aussie duo A.B. Original. They’re among the plethora of international artists that already feature on the soundtrack, including Megan Thee Stallion, Tyga and M.I.A.
“The NBA 2K soundtrack has evolved in recent years as a true platform for music discovery, where our players can experience tracks from new and aspiring musicians to some of the biggest global superstars out there,” said David Kelley, Senior Manager of Global Partnerships and Music Licensing at 2K. “This year, we are collaborating with SoundCloud, a top discovery platform for independent music and a leader in the industry as one of the most artist forward platforms out there. By joining forces with them, NBA 2K is looking to inspire these artists to create new music that has an impact and gives them the potential opportunity to be heard by millions of our players. We’ve seen incredibly diverse and amazing talent uncovered through ‘2K Beats: The Search’ already, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.”
If you’re a musical artist 18 and older who has what it takes to join the likes of A.B. Original, all you have to do is submit your original music to the official ‘2K Beats: The Search’ website or on SoundCloud via the Pitch to Partners tab. 2K have also given a helpful tip on reaching an even further audience during the search by using the @NBA2k, @SoundCloud and #2KBeatsTheSearch tags on social media.
