Battlefield V delayed until November.
EA.. how could you?! News reached us overnight that EA and DICE have revised the release date of Battlefield V, their latest first person shooter due in October, to NOVEMBER!
Now I will say one thing, November 20 is this writer’s birthday, so as much as I would love to treat this is some strange coincidence, I’m inclined to run with the thought that they’re doing it to give you, the reader of our fine publication, and opportunity to buy me a pretty awesome birthday present. However that is purely speculation.
DICE has tried to explain away the delay in a blog post citing “final adjustments to core gameplay“, but as most outlets are reporting today, we’re more inclined to think it may be because of the competition around the original launch date.
BFV was originally meant to launch on October 19 – right smack in the middle of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (October 12) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (October 26).
This could be a pretty smart move by the publisher as it ensures a good month clear of any major FPS titles – for me that’s a big deal because I’ll probably be looking for something new to chew on come November 20.
Destiny 2 is dropping Forsaken loot early!
Does this really come as a surprise though? Tell me when you’ve ever heard of a game that hasn’t had DLC issues, I smell a rat though. Imagine a group of Bungie devs sitting around a table watching the core player numbers of the game bounce up and down ahead of what is meant to be the biggest change to a game any title will see all year, until one bright spark comes up with the idea to accidentally release some of the loot a week early? That information gets out and BOOM, the player base comes crawling back, warming up for Forsaken.
Anyway enough chit-chat, you probably want to know how to get your hands on it.
The loot is dropping as a reward for completing the Flashpoint milestone on Mars.
Couple of other things:
- Don’t forget this weekend is a free weekend for all users regarding the new hybrid PvE/PvP mode GAMBIT.
- Join the Game On AUS clan on your bungie account – we’re really lovely and we have ice-cream.
Forsaken is out next week, eyes up Guardian.
I don’t understand what this means but did someone say PS5?
While trawling around the inter-webs for news today I came across another ghostly PS5 rumour saying a new “Erebus platform found in the Unreal engine 4 could be the PS5”.
Upon clicking the link it took me to a resetera post that had screenshots of a whole heap of code being data-mined by people who are a lot smarter (and have a lot more time on their hands) than me.
Hit the link and see if you can make out what all of the jargon is, and if you can – send me a message at the facebook page!
