Red Dead Redemption Gets A New Game-play Trailer.
October 26. If you haven’t locked that date away to take some time off work, do you even game bro? Red Dead Redemption 2 is set for release on that day and overnight we were treated to yet another example of why our hard earned is already spent with the release of a new game-play trailer.
“Rockstar games aims to create a living world, more interactive and deeper than ever.”
The game-play trailer is a complete walk-through featuring a voice over that systematically outlines Rockstar’s goals for Red Dead 2, and then proceeds to meticulously take us through all of the great things we can look forward to:
- Dead Eye slow-motion shooting
- Poker
- New systems based on animal hunting
- Animal relationship building systems like horse grooming
- Relationships with NPC’s that generate activities
- A new escalate or defuse choice system as you come across conflicts
- Animal hunting
- Trade and economy management
There’s still plenty more to look out for from Rockstar before Red Dead 2 launches. Their next video promises a look at activities, gangs, and missions.
Two months to go…
Discord Sets Its Sights On Steam.
Discord has announced it is getting ready to get into the game sales market by launching its own store to compete with the likes of Steam. A number of outlets are reporting the Discord will be launching a beta program that includes free games for paid membership (Discord Nitro), and a more traditional retail store.
The company will also be launching a new universal game launching tab so users don’t have to leave the platform to launch a game they want to play.
If you’ve used discord before, you’ll understand why this makes sense. Imagine you and your mates are busy chatting away in your discord server and you start browsing, only for one of you to mention “this game looks pretty good”, with one click you all make the purchase and with another click you all fire it up – and at no point have any of you alt-tabbed your discord app away to anything else. It’s incredibly fluid.
The subscription service feature will include games like, Saints Row: The Third, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Super Meat Boy and Metro: Last Light Redux. Discord Nitro costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 a year.
As the store expands, Discord says that it will, “rely on our community and our team to make the store feel super personal and focused on games that we genuinely think you’ll enjoy!” The first games on the store include Dead Cells, Into the Breach and Frostpunk.
The beta will be available to select Discord Nitro users with no mention of an actual release date just yet.
