Why EVERYONE playing Destiny 2 just got an upgrade.
You may have heard over the weekend that Clan Redeem became the first team in the world to beat the new Destiny 2 Raid in a time of 18 hours and 48 minutes, but what you might not have heard is that every other Destiny 2 player in the world got something as a result. Not long after the Raid was completed, Bungie dropped a tweet:
Riven’s death has granted one last wish… one last curse. pic.twitter.com/EdH1ZUcJhM
— Bungie (@Bungie) September 15, 2018
and then players who hadn’t completed the Raid started reporting that new things had appeared in the game, including being treated to this new cut scene when entering the Dreaming City themselves:
Other changes include:
- A new Strike – The Corrupted
- Petra has a new story mission
- New Gambit map – Cathedral of Stars
- New heroic mode for Blind Well event
- New visual effects in the Dreaming City
This is very VERY cool by Bungie, who are known for locking full game content behind completion walls – Emperor’s Respite (crucible map) didn’t appear until the Leviathan Raid was completed for the first time.
Don’t worry – your RTX 2080 is coming, it’s just going to be a tad late..
Nvidia has delayed the release of its new RTX 2080 Ti graphics card for general vendors by a week. It was supposed to go on general sale on September 20, but will now be available next Thursday the 27th. This will also effect pre-order customers with Nvidia saying yours will arrive sometime between the 20th and 27th also.
The founder’s edition card will set you back $1200 USD (that’s close to $1500 AUD for us in oz), but is set to execute the most revolutionary jump in GPUs seen in a long time, with accelerated ray tracing tech.
Wolfenstein 3 is coming! Dishonoured is resting?
Bethesda vice president of global marketing and communications, Pete Hines, spoke to Metro in a recent interview saying “We’re making a Wolfenstein 3.” This is great news for fans who would’ve seen the E3 presentation earlier this year when they said they were taking a break from the larger story to work on Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
Youngblood wil be set in the 1980’s starring Blazkowicz’ twin daughters, Jessica and Sophia.
Dishonoured fans, the news isn’t as good, but not 100% confirmed. Pete said “not to read too much into that” when asked about Arkane Studios (the devs behind the title) saying it was “resting”.
