For the very first time, Twitch Rivals will be making an appearance in Australia.
On the 3rd of September, DreamHack Melbourne will be hosting Twitch Rivals: Knockout City Showdown – a head-to-head dodgeball event. This Twitch Rivals event is a feast of Aussie and Kiwi streamers. With a $6000USD prize pool, the stakes are high for every single one of them in this dodgeball battle-royale.
The day is split into three rounds. The first round is a warm-up free-for-all to prepare everyone for the day ahead. In the second round, teams are formed, and the team to score the most points wins. However, the third round is where things really get crazy. Titled “Ball-Up Brawl”, the contenders will have to rely on team-work to win, as they now have to use each other as a weapon. Throwing each other to score points is sure to be a strange sight…
Twitch Rivals has been running for a while now, bringing together various streamers to compete against one another in random competitions. They’ve been running all over the world in all sorts of games – and now it’s Australia’s turn. Both Australian and New Zealand streaming personalities have been brought on board for their first outing down under.
The sixteen streamers who have been selected for the event are: Pestily, Nalopia, brodie, pixelsmixel, pearlescentmoon, robcdee, Demalay, Wazminator, emilleJ, LuftyTV, bubbell, Walkrman, Natalisea, BladeNZ, Spell316 and Fangetta.
The event is hosted by Reapz and Miss_MDK, and will start at 3pm, this Saturday. If you’re in Melbourne, you can catch it all in-person at DreamHack – but even if you’re not, it will be live streamed on Twitch’s TwitchRivals channel. It’ll also be streamed from the perspective of each participating streamer, if you’d rather check them out instead.
