Whipseey and the Lost Atlas is an upcoming 2D platformer from indie developer Daniel A. Ramirez and published by Blowfish Studios. I first came across Blowfish last year with their brilliant game Storm Boy and it was then that I found out they were fellow Aussies! I followed them on Twitter and came across a couple of games scheduled for release this year. This first of these is a retro-inspired action platformer featuring a pink character called Whipseey and utilising gorgeous pixel art.
“After discovering a magical book, a young boy named Drew is whisked away to Whipseeyland, where he transforms into Whipseey, the pink, whip-wielding hero of this bright, colorful world. With the help of Princess Alyssa, Whipseey embarks on a quest to recover magical orbs that possess the power to return him home.”
As Whipseey you will be whipping, swinging and gliding around numerous levels, facing all sorts of critters along your journey. It certainly looks like platformers of old and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it. Whipseey and the Lost Atlas is set for release in Q3 2019 and will be available on Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Be sure to add this game to your watchlist and keep an eye and ear out for a release date announcement in the near future.
