- Adelaide Action X
- Brisbane Bulldogs
- Cairns Comets
- Melbourne Matildas
- Perth Panthers
- North Sydney Sentinels
- South Sydney Skorpians
- Auckland Archers
- Christchurch Conquerors
A complete list of all the players for the World of Tanks ANZ Premier League is available on the World of Tanks Asia website.
The World of Tanks tournament and prize pool represents a revitalised interest in the growth of esports across Australia and New Zealand by Wargaming. Jake Truman, Product Manager for World of Tanks ANZ shared his thoughts on what the tournament means for the World of Tanks team and community.
“The ANZ Premier League is the biggest event for the ANZ World of Tanks community this year. It feels fitting that this is taking place in the same year as the global World of Tanks 10th Anniversary and three years since the launch of the World of Tanks ANZ server,” stated Jake Trueman.
Mr Trueman continued, “The competitive scene continues to grow here, and this is our next step in strengthening the sport and creating more opportunities.”
Earlier this year Wargaming ran a silent auction and eight-hour charity livestream, to fundraise for the charity BlazeAid – bushfire relief. Together with the ANZ community, they raised $90,000! It is exciting to see the Wargaming team’s continued presence and support in the ANZ region with the launch of the new league.
Partners for the tournament included HyperX, who are providing an Alloy Elite 2 keyboard, and HyperX headset and mouse, to all finalists. HyperX has also created customised World of Tank keycaps to complement the recently launched Hyper X Elite 2 keyboard, and to celebrate the launch of the World of Tanks tournament. Fortress Melbourne will be supporting the event as the production partner over the 12-week series.
As part of the World of Tanks presence at PAX Online, the Wargaming team are also hosting a panel. The panel will take place this coming Wednesday (16th of September, 2020). Fans can tune in to the main PAX Twitch channel from 3:30 pm (AEST) to catch a discussion about roles in gaming outside programming – “The Non-Programmers Guide to the Gaming Galaxy”.
As part of the Wargaming events at PAX Online, the World of Tanks digital booth will also be running on the show floor.
