The stage is set for World Of Tanks ANZPL Season 4 Round 9. With finals just around the corner and teams fighting to avoid relegation, every match has something on the line!

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 9 Game 1
Christchurch Conquerors Vs Adelaide Action X

    Conquerors Vs Action X

The Conquerors started their map pick of Ghost Town on the defence. Bringing an unconventional defensive setup, they waited for Action X to make their move. Action X moved a tank onto the 2 flag, baiting the Conquerors into a fight. Conquerors spotted the trap and forced an all in brawl. Action X weathered the storm and take the attacking win. The return leg saw Action X setting their defence around the 1 flag. The Conquerors moved three tanks onto the 2 flag forcing a quick rotation from Action X. Action X dumped in creating a 4v3 fight in their favour. The Conquerors fought back hard but ended up in a 2v1 disadvantage. After a tense final confrontation Action X go up 2-0 on the Conqueror’s map pick.

The action headed to Himmelsdorf with Action X on defence of their map choice. They started by pushing up the 0 line with the Conquerors preparing for a 1 flag defence. The Conquerors spotted Action X and rotated, bleeding them. Rolling in numbers the Conquerors forced a brawl. Action X got first blood but the Conquerors’ focus fire struck back giving them a defensive win. Switching to attack on the return leg, the Conquerors moved to K2. While the attention was on the 1 flag, the Conquerors snuck a tank onto the 2 flag. Action X somehow managed to stay unspotted to get that tank off the cap. The Conquerors collapsed onto Action X’s Ironguard before creating a crossfire on their rivals. The Conquerors pushed into remove two Action X tanks. Fighting against the clock the Conquerors take the second Himmelsdorf match to force the game to a tie breaker.

With Conquerors on attack on the Tundra tie breaker, they moved through the river onto the 1 flag. Action X would need to move fast with three tanks opposing tanks on the cap. With the threat of a dump, the Conquerors moved off the cap to keep them at bay. The Conquerors held their nerve and took the tie breaker win.

The Christchurch Conquerors defeat the Adelaide Action X 3-2.

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 9 Game 2
South Sydney Skorpions Vs North Sydney Sentinels

    Skorpions Vs Sentinels

The Sydney derby started with Skorpions defending on their map choice of Mines. Both the Skorpions and the Sentinels dumped into the middle and a brawl ensued. The Skorpions made the most of their shots to take the win. The Sentinels moved to attack on the return leg. Starting a little slower, the Sentinels sent TheReturned far north to scout but was spotted out by Skorpion’s JT. While that duel was happening the rest of the Sentinels pushed into the middle. TheReturned won his battle against JT but the rest of the Sentinels had bled heavily to take hill control. In the end it was too much for them as the Skorpions went up 2-0.

Starting their map pick of Tundra on attack, the Sentinels took map control to the south. Moving through the river the Sentinels had at least one tank spotted out as they headed towards the 1 flag. Skorpions were set up to deal with this but with JT going down the Sentinels moved up on this see-saw of a game. The Sentinels kept that see-saw in their favour and took the game. The Sentinels set up on defence heavily to the south on the return leg. Skorpion’s Raspberry was lucky to escape with four Sentinels closing in. He found a hold down spot in the river with his team covering him. The Sentinels managed to isolate a Skorpions tank, but the Skorpions had eliminated two of the Sentinels. The Sentinels fought valiantly but it was the Skorpions that prevailed.

The South Sydney Skorpions defeat the North Sydney Sentinels 3-1.

    ANZPL Season 4 Round 9 Game 3
    Brisbane Bulldogs Vs Perth Panthers

    Bulldogs Vs Panthers

The Bulldogs started on defence of their Cliff map pick. The Bulldogs spread out allowing the Panthers to take the hill. Both teams bled each other but settled into a stalemate. The Bulldogs were eventually able to create a crossfire and farm up the Panthers. The Bulldogs made the most of their chances and Bulldog’s MadHouse cleans up with 5 kills to help his team to the win. The Panthers moved to defence on the return leg. The Bulldogs focus fire was on point to take down Panthers’ LightningMan before removing another two Panthers tanks and only losing one of their own. The Bulldogs started applying cap pressure to draw the Panthers out and go 2-0 up.

The Panthers needed a win on their Ghost Town map pick. Starting on attack, the Panthers scouted the 8 line. The Panthers’ JS forced MadHouse off his position allowing them to get on the 1 flag. The Bulldogs were able to get the resets forcing the Panthers moved off. The Panthers were able to isolate and remove two of the Bulldogs. They then moved three tanks onto the 2 flag. The Bulldogs were able to get the resets again but it came down to a 4v1 fight in the Panthers favour. An amazing blocking play by Panthers’ Goober see them pick up the timed win. The action moved to Bulldogs on attack on the return leg. Goober and Madhouse traded their lives as the Panthers picked a 3v4 fight. After a tight brawl the Panthers take the win to give us the second tie breaker of the night.

The Panthers took the attack on the Tundra tie breaker map. The Bulldogs took three medium tanks into the fight to try and quickly isolate the Panthers. The Panthers spotted this play and the Bulldogs abandoned the roving pack. Once that happened the Bulldogs didn’t have the HP to fight the brawls. The Panthers clean up the Bulldogs and take the reverse sweep.

The Perth Panthers defeat the Brisbane Bulldogs 3-2.

    Fantasy League

Action X’s Saxon (331.9) and Ironguard (316.7) showed their contribution to their tie breaker. The Team Of The Week was rounded out with Panthers’ Twit (292.6)
