THE WWE SummerSlam 2021 was broadcast worldwide earlier today with a surprise for WWE 2K fans. During the broadcast, viewers were treated with another glimpse of WWE 2K22, which we can expect to launch next year. WWE 2K22 was first announced back in May during Wrestlemania where we saw Rey Mysterio appear in the first teaser trailer.
The 30-second trailer shown today not only reveals the games launch in March 2022 but also cleaner looking gameplay than that of WWE 2K20. Which was the last annual release before the franchise took a year off in 2020. The games visual enhancements are thanks to a redesigned engine, over 3,400 new animations and 85% of the in-game roster taking part in facial scanning.
The in-game versions of WWE Superstars shown in the trailer include Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Bayley, Rhea Ripley and Ricochet. We’re also treated with a couple of screenshots of Edge during his entrance. More details are said to be revealed in January of next year.
