With just 12 days until Christmas (can you believe it?), you may be wondering which games to tackle as you wind down the year and prepare for the inevitable multiple food comas. The legends at Xbox have you covered with their 12 games of Christmas suggestions to chill out on the couch and hit up some Xbox gaming, and these are all available through Xbox Game Pass.
Minit
Journey outside the comfort of your home to help unusual folk, uncover countless secrets and overcome dangerous foes, all in hopes of lifting a rather unfortunate curse that ends each day after just one minute.
The Gardens Between
Take control of Arina and Frendt as you manipulate time to solve puzzles in a mysterious realm where cause and effect are malleable. I loved playing this game, and it’s one I play with my nieces and nephews as it’s good harmless puzzling fun.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Whether you’re taking on The Covenant in single-player or taking out some fellow Spartans online, Halo has something for everyone. Better yet, with the recent addition of Halo: Reach, players have a wealth of options available to them. Keep an eye out for my review of Halo: Reach in the next week.
Secret Neighbor
Work with your friends in this multiplayer horror title where your aim is to rescue a kid from the Neighbour’s creepy basement. But watch out, one of your friends is really the neighbour in disguise!
#IDARB
#IDARB is a chaotic, 8-player, eSport jumping future arena ball game, complete with wild half time competitions, unlockable recipes, and disruptive “hashbombs”.
Forza Horizon 4
With Forza Horizon 4’s free play mode you can experience dynamic seasons in a shared open-world without dedicating a lot of time to it. Explore beautiful scenery, collect over 450 cars and become a Horizon Superstar in historic Britain. I reviewed the game at release and loved it. This reminds me that I need to get back into the Lego Speed Champions expansion.
Creature in the Well
Unlock the power of an ancient facility and face the ominous, all-seeing Creature in this pinball-inspired, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler.
Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons
Solve puzzles, explore the varied locations and fight boss battles all while controlling both brothers with a thumbstick. This unique journey is one you will never forget.
Sea of Thieves
Offering the essential pirate experience, from sailing and fighting to exploring and looting – Sea of Thieves has everything you need to live the pirate life and become a legend in your own right.
Old Man’s Journey
Experience this soul-searching puzzle adventure where you interact with the world around you. Shape the landscape to create the old man’s path forward.
My Friend Pedro
Have you ever wondered what it’d be like to take orders from a sentient, potassium-filled banana? No? Well My Friend Pedro is gonna put you through it anyway. Check out this unique side-scrolling adventure as you control one man on his journey to obliterate anyone in his path. Nicco reviewed this at release.
Riverbond
Finish off your 12 games of Christmas with Riverbond. Embark on a heroic journey to complete missions, battle adorable enemies and smash everything into tiny cubes!
So there you have it, 12 games on a platter to choose from for your next few gaming sessions, and all available as part of the amazing Xbox Game Pass catalogue. There’s plenty of gamer points up for grabs in these games! Also, there’s a heap of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the new year such as Bleeding Edge, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Wastelanders 3. It’s a great time to knock off some of the catalogue now to make room for these games and many more next year!
